Twitter Busts China’s Info War Campaign Against Pandemic
>Wu Mao army, or the 50-Cent Army of pro-China, anti-Trump, anti-Hong Kong protester Twitter accounts got infiltrated.
>They're a group of state-backed internet commenters whose numbers have reportedly ranged from 500,000 to 2 million
>Twitter said it found 32,242 accounts and listed them as foreign state-linked information operations.
>All the accounts were linked to China, Russia, and Turkey. And all of them were permanently removed
>Accounts were suspended for various violations
>Twitter said it found 23,750 accounts that comprise the core of the China network, those who were most active in posting.
>Around 150,000 other accounts were set up to boost those 23,000, serving as amplifiers
>The main messenger accounts-the 23,750 Twitter users — were caught early and “failed to achieve considerable traction on the service, typically holding low follower accounts and low engagement,”
>the majority had little to no followers and were set up to inflate impression metrics and engage with the core messengers.
>Tweets were topically divided among four main groups: the Hong Kong protests; Covid-19; exiled Chinese billionaire Guo “Miles” Wengui; and Taiwan.
>Tweet activity around the pandemic ramped up in late January 2020 when the infection curve was rising fast in Wuhan
>Some were created as early as September, but were mostly dormant until they began tweeting in March about coronavirus news.
>The accounts had fewer than 10 followers and no bios. Batches of accounts were created on the same day with similar naming conventions or bio patterns. These are foot soldiers making a quick buck.
>This is not the first time Twitter has removed Chinese info warriors from their platform. They suspended nearly 200,000 China accounts in August 2019. Twitter is banned in China.
Reminder Twitter is scum and they engage in shady business too.
Nearly Half of Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories on Twitter Are Coming From Bots
>Some of the misinformation propagated on social media is promoted by people who genuinely believe it to be true. But much of it isn’t promoted by people at all, but by automated accounts, or bots. This is confirmed by a new study from Carnegie Mellon University’s Center for Informed Democracy & Social Cybersecurity, which found that a whopping 45% to 60% of accounts on Twitter promoting misinformation related to coronavirus were bots.
>As part of the study, researchers analyzed nearly 200 million tweets since January referring to the coronavirus. It looked for specific markers that typically identify bots, such as whether they tweet multiple times in a short period, or copy-paste text from other tweets. The team found more than 100 false narratives and conspiracy theories related to COVID-19 that were perpetuated by bots, such as the idea that 5G wireless towers are spreading the virus, or that the virus was created in a lab in Wuhan, China.

Only lockdown elderly/metabolic/auto-immune at risk, make them be careful
Lockdown only the at-risk, be careful around the at-risk, force the at-risk to take precautions like COVERING BOTH MOUTH AND NOSE WITH BOTH HANDS UNLESS IMPOSSIBLE.
I think it's a major over-reaction. I think the claimed death rate is way too high, because of biased selective testing. Most of those tested are symptomatic, sick, etc. There may be a lot of asymptomatic or mildy symptomatic people out there. The US lockdown started like late March? I get that it's better to be safe than sorry though.
We need to get out accurate tests that includes a large, representative, random sample. Saying anything about death rate before that is really premature, IMHO.
AT RISK includes elderly, and people with metabolic and auto-immune problems.
Some Metabolic issues:
- prediabetic, type 2 diabetic
- fatty-liver, NAFLD
- insulin resistance
- elevated abdominal fat
- elevated fasting blood sugar levels
Some Auto-immune disorders:
- elevated and excessively strong immune response to corona causes deaths
- elevated levels of pro-inflammatory substances in blood
- type 1 diabetes
- multiple sclerosis
- severe allergies take precautions like COVERING BOTH MOUTH AND NOSE WITH BOTH HANDS
Explain how trying to cover mouth and nose will save you from visions that can stay in air up to 24 hours and stay on surfaces up to 12 days.
Are you suggesting for people at-rist to hold their breath for at least 24 hours?
Do you even know how aerosol transmission works?
There is no exit out of this but either strict lockdown and quarantine, or letting everyone die.
There are options in-between, of course, but in-between options are likely to end up as option 2.
>the claimed death rate is way too high
Missing Deaths: Tracking the True Toll of the Coronavirus Outbreak
>Most of those tested are symptomatic, sick, etc
Yes they are. Sick people want to be tested because they probably want to be treated. Surprising, isn't it? That's how it always been working for any other virus.
>There may be a lot of asymptomatic or mildy symptomatic people out there
And some of the asymptomatic and mild cases have complications developed from the SARS-CoV-2, and some of these die, and some of those deaths may fly under the radar, never getting to inflate the death rate.
