FAA approves first commercial drone use

Governments aren't the only entities with drone aircraft. Now oil companies have them too. This week, the Federal Aviation Administration approved its first commercial flights by an unmanned aircraft. The first flight, sponsored by oil giant ConocoPhillips, took place above the Arctic's Chukchi Sea in mid-September and performed surveys on marine mammals and ice sheets. These surveys are mandatory before any drilling on the seafloor can begin. RT's Sam Sacks has more information on the inaugural commercial drone flight.
